Winter Fun Run at the Buffalo Aquatic Center

Postby donO » Mon Jan 20, 2014 12:25 pm

Yesterday the 8 Balls and the Canadian Mafia were invited to attend this yearly event. The indoor pool is Huge and there were a lot of surface boats, including Sailboats present. Many folks showed up to view the boats on the tables and running in the water. Our subs were definitely a hit especially when we let a couple of the young kids run them for a while. We then all went to Duffs for dinner. What a great event! Thanks to Don Spielberger and the the Buffalo club for inviting us back this year.

Here's some pictures from the run:

What an excellent time :D Yes thanks to Don S. and the rest of the Rochester Gang for inviting their northern neighbours to come out and play, the weather outside was crappy, but nice and warm inside. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and found another great place for chicken wings.
Thanks Again. :D :D
P.S. Fantastic pics as well.

The proteus is another innovative creation from Rick Teskey. That boat was one of the best running boats at the event yesterday. He will have to provide the details.

Rick modified an old SiFi static model kit.
Nice job too. 8)
I got a short time at the helm and it runs very smooth.
Except for the hernia lifting his radio and the rudder on the wrong stick it was great fun.
My old brain kept trying to move my right hand to turn.
Must be a Canadian thing.

GREAT to see you guys all together and running again! Wish I coulda been there. Enjoyed the pix, Don and Patti, and whoever else took them...

Particularly enjoyed seeing Rick T's neat Proteus—it's now joined my list of "someday" boats. Hey, I gotta have one—it's nearly a namesake!

Best,
