The Revell online store shows late January. I am sorry to say no Christmas for you. (I am in the same boat too!) I am itching to get my hands on one......
Also the Revell Type VII is shown as discontinued.

I have two pre-ordered through my hobby shop. Yes, looks like it will be January. I plan on doing one for display, and the other R/C. I am very glad Revell has given us some love again!

Man I'm building the plug for one at 1/48 scale, and I have been doing it all off photos. I have to get one but our Revell importer here is crap. so I may have to try the shop Freetime hobbies.
It will be good for all the panel lines etc. Thanks for the info.

And have a good Xmas.

If you need panel lines, there is another route you could go. "Vom Original zum Modell" U-Boot Typ IX is probably your best bet. It has the frame lines, panel lines, free flood holes, ect.

Although panel lines and free flood patterns varied from ship yard to ship yard. :D
