New member question: 688class sail dimensions

Postby steh2o » Wed Jul 10, 2013 11:00 am

Hello, my name is Stefano, from Italy, and I'm mainly interested in modelling US subs in 1/700 scale.
My question is: what are the dimensions of a 688-class sail? It seems like no two model manufacturers share the same idea about this point. Any help would be appreciated,
thanks in advance

Tom,
thank you very much, I was desperate to find data about the sail, I tried also to contact someone living near Buffalo to have measurements taken on the USS Boston sail!
Reading through the forum I understood you are very knowledgeable about US subs, may I ask another couple of questions?
-what is the distance from the extreme bow to the sail?
-about length, I have found 360' in most places, but also 361' 11", which one is true?
-and finally is it known the width of anechoic-tiled boats?
Thank you again for your help,
best regards
