Years ago I sculpted a prehistoric whale ( look here.
) Many people encouraged me to make a kit out of it since there are damn few models of Basilosaurus to be found. So I did. I sent the sculpture to the premiere dinosaur model caster in the business. Cost me $500 to get the mold made. Then more to cast each kit in quality white resin. I advertised in Prehistoric Times. I needed to sell five to break even. Eventually I sold two --- but only after I cut the price by more than half. I lost my shirt.
So no more kit making for me. Until I win the Lottery.
