Does anyone have one of the old Krick U-25 wooden submarine kits that they would be willing to let go of?

PM me if you do!

Good luck Matt. I hope you find one.
I saw one trimmed out last year at the North Lake run and it was the strangest thing to watch dive.
It would pop under the water very fast like a duck diving for a fish or what ever ducks eat.
It would kick its a$$ in the air and down she would go. Then pop up somewhere else. 8)
The guy had been in subs for years and had some really nice boats but told me that this one was his favorite to run.
He had it for 28 years if I remember.
I had seen them run before but this one he modified the motor or something. I don't remember what.
It was funny that something so simple a design and really at the start of R/C subs would be more fun to run than a big buck boomers.
Maybe we need to get back to basics. :D
Although I never have driven one they say the original (MINI) Mini-cooper is one of the most fun cars to drive there is.
And talk about your (Basic) basic transportation. Just watch the scene in the Jason Borne movie. BD.

Dave,

You are right. I had one many, many years ago and sold it off. What a mistake! It was a LOT of fun to run and so simple. Nothing ever went wrong with that boat...When my other boats were side lined with troubles, she was always there waiting to go!

Hi Matt,

You both have it right. I started in R/C subs with the Krick boat. Sold it to Joe Oliver a long, long time ago. Should have kept it....

I know we've hijacked Matt's thread, but I need to interject a small trivia point. Jim Martin of Hobby Lobby saw my Krick boat at a R/C show in '92, and shot video of it running for their "see the model kit before you buy it" video series.

I personally have a built one, that I do not use anymore. It was my first submarine as well.

I would be willing to part with it matt, if you are interested in a robust restoration job? (it has been dormant over 10 years)
