Hi Craig,
Not strictly a UB III, but I have a book about the UC boats with some photos of the stern section of UC II and UC III boats. Since the UB III was a UC II with a new bow and the UC III was based on a UB III in turn this might help though.
Atually I also have the UB Class book but this is back in Germany so It would need some time to get it from there and I don't rememer whether there were any photos of the stern .

Hi Jens
I am pretty sure I have these same books. the pictures on the ucII boats do not show the end cap. then there is the question of the deck casing. the ub-88 stern was quit different. there are 3 classes of UBIII it depends on there tonnage. most plans show late war UBIII. one of those things you want to draw out rite, but as yet have not been able to find a picture. what do you think of the plans so far? I will be sharing the drawings with all SCR members at some point. any input is welcomed. sometime this year I will work up a UCII or UCIII set of plans. all the best craig

Hi Gantu
that would be great. half the fun is researching something. I am amazed at what info is out there on this u-boat. enjoy the plans. also I have drawn out both sides of the UB-88 and I am working on the deck view. the deck drawing has so much going on. it will be very cool. all the best craig

Hi Craig,
Looks great.
I might be interested in this drawing. It might be useful to persuade one of the guys down in our club to build one.
Just imagine - I as a German with my (hopefully then ready) British R-Class hunting a British guy with a German UB III :D

Hi Craig.
Where have you find this information? Im trying to find out how the Uboat (UB82, also an UBIII) that the brother of my grandfather served in, looked like. I presume that the UB88 (from Vulcan Werke) is very similar to the UB82 (from AG Weser), even if they where built by two different boatyards.
Or is the differences (i.e. flood-holes, tonnage etc) between the boatyards and not by the production-time of the boats?
Whats the difference between early, middel and late UBIII uboats? The drawing from http://www.christian-schmidt.com/product_info.php?cPath=90_230&products_id=2612 shows UB133- UB141 so I assume that these drawings are of the latest variant and can not be used as building-drawings for the UB82?

Hi Guys
I am wondering if any one has a clearer copy of the UCII frames out of one of Rossler books. if you do could you scan me a copy. I can work off of these. but would like to get a clear copy. if you look at it it shows platelines. who ever drew these was good. thanks craig

Hi Craig,
I'v just mailed the guy frrom that page and askd for details about his drawing.
Since I have the book by Roesser I could scan the drawing and send it to you. there are also some more drawings of the Type UB III in this book - so I could scan them as well. I'm not sure whether I can do it this weekend though - I'm a bit busy.
