"Model Sub Art" Forum

Postby pier 72 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 7:56 pm

I'd like to request a new forum within the General Forum please. I've recently begun painting scenes from model Sub regattas here in Australia and I'm sure there are other like minded obsessives who are doing the same thing (sort of) by combining their hobby of model subs and art, in what ever form.

It would be great to show our work internationally and possibly tweek the interest of other model builders around the world.

Regards, Dave (Pier 72)

Hey John,
You should post the artists names for those pieces if you're going to post them elsewhere than where you found them. As an artist myself I would appreciate that, as I'm sure they would too.

Pirate, the artist would be me, Dave Manning and if you'd like to see some more of my "stuff", including a few more recent model boat/sub themed pieces you should go to my site, http://www.pier72.com

Let me know what you think as I'm self taught and loving every minute of it!!!!

Dave,
I was talking about the images sunworksco posted. Were those yours too?

The ones at the top of the post look like oils. They have a nice style to them Dave. Keep on going, you show a lot of potential. If I might recommend getting some books or researching depicting light and shadow, and perspective, and I think you'll see yourself make a giant leap forward in your abilities. And then you'll really have fun. Good job.

Hey Kevin,

I may have a crack at them when I get more proficient at this painting game.
Here's a couple more my Model Sub Themed pieces.

I've done a bit more work on this and gone with the title "The Gathering Wolves".
I even sold two more paintings yesterday. I think it's time to go back to seascape paintings for a little while now.

Do we need special permission to view "Model Sub Art" as I get the message that I don't have necessary permission?

Yes sir, I was logged in. It did this since I read of it's creation and tried. I figured it was not fully functional at that time. When I tried the other day it still denied me so I left you the message. I'll check it again.

P.S. I just checked and now it's fine. I can read it OK.
Thanks.
