I've ordered both of them. They were supposed to be released in October but that has been put back to December. I'll be "retro-fitting" the Sub Driver I'm currently using in my Revell Gato, USS Flasher.

I am waiting too, but I think Merriman will release a new cylinder for the boat.

Well, I WAS waiting for them. But now, with the exchange rate with the Aussie dollar being so crappy I've cancelled my pre-order.

Not picking on any manufacturer in particualr, but doesnt this go against the principal of the WTC, that can be swapped around many boats!!! If every kit needs a new WTC might as well custom build the boat

Most of my Cylinders form Merriman do interchange form one boat to the next, and never gave me any problems, but hey I am no official spokperson for the Man. Susgest you contact him when he has a Lindberg kit to check out, and see what is what on his line of SDs!

Merriman's Sub-driver for the Japanese Lindburg boats will be a 2.5" cylinder, similar to the Seaview, or the Revell VII. David thinks one or the other will likely be a 'drop-in'.

It really depends on the ballast tank size, and he can't determine that until he has a model to determine the 'above waterline' space etc.

Several other developments are in the works, such as an optional system which could run on Snort and gas, or just Snort, and/or RCABS etc.

I wrote Ernie Petit, president of Lindberg-Hawk this week & received the following reply regarding the new subs:

"Neither of the 2 subs have been released. We are currently making the final mold corrections . Release is at least 2 months away."

Photos of the kit I've seen can be found at: http://s393.photobucket.com/albums/pp19 ... eKucer.jpg

As you'll see detail isn't up to Revell's standards. So far only Nautilus plans to anything regarding aftermarket detail kits & that will be limited to wood decks.

Hm, little hope that the subs will be cheaper in Europe.
In fact, they will probably not be available at all, so that we will have to order them through HLJ or the like...

Edit: I just checked, I-53 is announced at HLJ for $183. Puh.
