1/96 ScaleShips Oscar II Build

Postby EricPW8818 » Sun Sep 21, 2008 9:42 pm

Hello,

I have been working on and off on this boat for almost a year. Spent the first three months opening flood holes ( about 400 later ) I have installed a WTC 3.5/2, and more. Here are a few shots of where I'm at so far.

Nice boat.

Be sure to protect those plywood ribs from water though.

I covered the plywood twice with epoxy resin. I silver soldered the attenuators to the props. I should polish the things up, but they are gonna look pretty cool with a little tarnish on there. I can't wait to float this thing.

Did you use a big soldering iron or did you use a propane torch? And I assume you drilled and tapped the props for set screws because mine didnt come with any. :)

Bring it to Gilligans Island this Saturday and put it through some trials :D .

That is if the Deepsouth guys are going to run, and the weather holds out.

Can you supply a picture of the inside of the tail section? Specifacally the multiple hookups to the rudders and planes. Its a lot of work and I thought seeing yours might provide a few shortcuts. Thanks!!! :D
