SubComDeepSouth meeting schedule

Postby g2tiger » Tue Jun 10, 2008 7:06 pm

Gents,

A recent poll indicated that a regular scheduled meeting is desirable. With that in mind and based on responses and schedules the SubComDeepSouth group will hold regular sub runs at Gilligan's Island on the fourth Saturday of the month. If you were not polled please accept my apologies.

This months meet will be June 28 at 10am. Get your stuff ready and post a reply o this page if you can attend. There are some plans for hot dogs and such.

This does not mean we will not venture to Devils Den but that location is in it's summer algee bloom and that makes for a more difficult run. Future runs will be there but not for a few months.

Respectfully,

Charlie

Nuke,

Sure I'll be the contact for anyone interested in showing up. :D

One day i may even have a working sub (dives and returns to the surface on command).

Lots going on with the marlin. No photos allowed due to the top secret nature of the mods.

attention on deck

Postby g2tiger » Thu Jun 19, 2008 5:12 pm

Gents,

I have been asked if we could do the BBQ thing instead of lunch at a restaurant. I have a small grill and some Match-light we can use. Someone has offered to pick up some dogs. Anyone for drinks and condiments?

I would hazard a guess that there will be about five on site.

Any questions shoot me an email g2tiger@comscast.net or leave a message here and I will try to check the page within a reasonable amount of time.

I will cover drinks and condiments, any preference on drinks? I will bring Coke, Dr Pepper, and M Dew, unless you guys would prefer something else. Other than ketchup and mustard what else would you guys like?

recap of Gilligan's Island meeting on June 28

Postby g2tiger » Sun Jul 06, 2008 2:15 pm

Gent's,

Tis was a great run :D !

Although there were only three present we had a blast! I have sent the Dark Lord AKA Kevin Price some info and pictures for the Report but I will divulge some info here. The water was crystal clear! If I had a set or swim trunks I would have been into it up to my chest! Warren Wilson brought his GIANT U-boot and spent the day prowling the waters. Lyle Price brought a Dumas Tug and his Revell GATO. Both of which looked great. The Revell is still in work so did not get wet but it is only a few hours from getting wet.

As for me any the Marlin MK 5 well, that was not so good. The hullis taking shape but time has become an issue. I am working as much as I can on the model to prepare for the Subregatta but I may not make it. We will see.

So here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

The Marlin is no more!

Postby g2tiger » Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:27 pm

Nuke,

The marlin hit a mine ans was destroyed.

However we can rebuild her, faster, better, more stuff to go wrong....

Ask you dad how she looked when he saw her last. We were toying with a new CT. Lyle, don't say much as it is a secret. I don't want a bunch of copycats taking my glory.

Nuke, I can send you a pict if you keep it under wraps.

Gato build

Postby g2tiger » Tue Jul 15, 2008 5:15 pm

Kevin,

I did ask your dad if he was up for a second boat. Perhaps he could become a "subcontractor" haha!

:P

So I will take a picture of the pig boat and send it to you. BTW I did order a WTC from Atomic Subs. I'm waiting for it to arrive. When that gets here I will be first class and wet.
