Have an idea for the web site?

Private Messages

Postby Ramius-II » Tue Apr 17, 2007 12:59 pm

I was wondering if there was a way to forward mail in the private message folder to say your non-subcommittee e-mail address? This way the message does not need to be stored for a long time on the subcommittee computer, rather on one's own hard drive. Just a thought.

Best, Ed

Hi Ed,

I've often wanted to do exactly the same thing. So far, other than doing a manual "cut and paste", I haven't seen a way to do it.....but let me do some more checking.

This is what makes the SubCommittee work - getting together and sharing skills.
Thanx guys!

I will take a look at it, and if it doesn't work, I can at least use it as base to write one, the question is though, do you want the receiver to be able to reply to the message via email to the sender, i.e. the receiver hits the reply button in the client and the person who sent the PM will get an email message back

I don't think that the PM has the original poster's e-mail address as part of it....?

The original request was to forward PMs to your e-mail system for archiving....not for creating an extension to the PM facility.

Make sense to everyone?

the original question : can the PM's be exported ?
is now fixed, in your user control panel -> messages there is an option to "export to CSV" (and a few other types of export)
this dumps the content of WHAT YOU SEE ON THAT PAGE to your pc.
It DOES NOT export the messages which are listed on the OTHER PAGES you might have.

i.e. export is per page (don't ask me why..)
