Know of an upcoming modeling event?

Just heard from Jeff Porteus and he has a nice big box of goodies he is donating to the SubRaffle. Thanks Jeff!

Here is what he wrote...

The package contains:

(1) Swimline brand approx. 10" R/C Submarine (yellow "research" type; 27 mhz)
(1) Smart Planet brand approx. 4" R/C Diving Sub (bathtub/aquarium type; 49 mhz)
(1) "American Submariner"-embroidered ball cap (from WWII SubVet convention)

. . . and strictly for the kiddies . . .

(4) separate motorized underwater pool toys (squid, etc.)
(1) "Dive Guys" underwater-floating pool toy (pkg. of 4)
(1) Wind-up diving-and-surfacing submarine (approx. 8")
(1) Glow-in-the-dark "Torpedo Shark" pool toy

That's everything. No waders this year -- so far!
(Jeff donated a nifty set of submarine recovery waders last year :;): )

You're more than welcome, Tim. But you honor me beyond my accomplishments: most of that stuff is vendor samples from buyers at work. If I didn't snatch them up to donate to a worthy cause like our (fanfare here) International Regatta, they'd only go to distinctly UNworthy fellow employees -- and we certainly don't want that!

Just heard from U-Brass U-Brass. They are sending two complete sets of flood hole brass with waterline decals for the Revell Type VII for the SubRegatta Raffle -
Here is how they describe it...

This set helps you depict accurate flood patterns (flood/vent/drain holes) for almost any type VIIC or even VIIB u-boat, including the just released VIIC/41.

For example, the Revell model torpedo doors are too long, the flood holes around and between the doors are completely inaccurate for any boat, along with other oddities. The U-Brass kit fixes these problems and more. The U-Brass kit gives you choices depending on what actual boat you are depicting.
