SubRegatta 06 - Who is going?

Local Chapter covering Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Postby PaulC » Tue May 02, 2006 10:37 am

Hi guys,

Well, Gail and I are making plans to attend the big national show this year -- first time for both of us. It isn't official yet, but it looks very good.

Who else is planning to attend from our squadron? I believe Jeff Porteous and Wayne planning to go.

Paul,

I don't think you will see me there. I've got another project at work finishing up around that time, and I just can't get away...

Yup, I'm in -- and excited! And Paul, Forest's buddy Holly is planning to drop by. He'll definitely want to compliment you on your script in person!

Ain't we got fun!

Tom, that's great!

Gail and I finalized our plans last night and our reservations are made as well. This is getting good! Everyone staying at the Hilton HQ, correct?

I hope to have the Sun N Fun 06 t-shirts done by then so we can wear our colors. And we have the SR5 banner. What else can we do to show up in style?
Warm regards,

This will be cool. Gail and I will drive (sharing duties at the conn) and bring our boats. Should be quite a showing for our group.

Paul,

Yes, I'm at the Hilton HQ with the rest of you, hence this question: since I'm flying in and likely won't have a rental car till after the event, got room for a stowaway and his boat in your bus from the hotel to the site and back?

Many thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

Yes, I'm sure we can work that out.

What more can we do to get creative with our waterfront presence (besides arriving with a stunning fleet of boats)?
Warm regards,

Glad to hear you guys are going to make it! If you have a banner or any other SubRon identification, be sure to bring it along!

I'd like to see all the SubRons have banners to display at their local events and at the SubRegatta each year. I think the SC could help with part of the cost, as long as the SubCommittee logo and web address is on it. Shoot me an email if you (or any of the other SubRons) are interested!

Tom,

I prefer the term "spokesmodel" -- like at the auto shows except our boats would be up on the turntable.

Hat's would be cool. Jeff had some custom SubCommittee hats made a year or two ago and they looked excellent. Maybe his vendor can work us up a quote for an SR5 logo and name on the back?

I also made a 5 minute movie from video clips taken last year. It's definitely PC-only quality but we could run that at our booth/table. Table skirts would help maximize our presentation. And a fireworks show at sundown!

Not to steal his thunder but I heard from Albert last night and he's going to be there too. That's seven of our guys so far.

Tim,

We've got a very nice banner that Tom Spettel had made for us about four years ago. We'll definitely bring it. And we're gonna need a spot down front!!! :D

Hmm...

SubRon 5 chorus line dance routine? You got the legs, Crozier. All we need are hats piled high with fresh fruit!

;-)

Guys,

I'll check with my contact -- a local subvet -- on hats if you want me to. Great idea! Quantity estimate, for the sake of argument?
