Just thought I would add a new topic to keep the 8-balls current. :p

Paul Donnie and I are awating the arrival of our new XV11b kits from Master Craftsman Steve Neill. Paul and I are thinking about a (little-Paul) High Speed number. My first RCABS-R_DW-WTC-3 is shipping out next week for testing.
Sorry we could not get together tomorrow. Hopefully the Y is in our future. BD. :D

There will be some nice days yet before the s--- flies for good. Still plugging away on the reverse RCABS system. I think I've settled on this setup as the final way to go. It eliminates the higher pressure (vacuum + water pressure) on the seals.

If I get my yard work done today and there is still some good sunlight, I will be headed for the Island Cottage Rd pond. The Kilo is finished and she needs to stretch her legs more than she can in the laundry tub... :D

BD,
Simply took the volume measurements needed and with 3 small bladders in the confined ballast tank (I put the WTC in a glass column with an overflow port) , it worked out to 12 ounces of displaced water. So now I have the pump sucking the air OUT of the bladders, thru the end cap, into a 12 oz (temporary) bottle. I see 12 psi as the bladders go flat, bypass the pump with the clippard valve and watch the bladders re-fill. With the volume equal, the tank reaches 0 psi just as the bladders firm up. This pressure limits me to 27 feet of fresh water (the radio signal can’t go that deep anyway). I DO like this setup.
:D
By the way, I found a company that has all different sizes of stainless steel floats. 3.5" works out to 12 oz. Don't you love it when things work out.

Getting ready to start my winter project. I'm sure everyone is familiar with this sub already, but all I can say is that Steve did a great job. I'm really looking forward to building this sub.

After working on the Kilo hopefully I won't get so many hand cramps with this one!!!

Looks good, here I am still puttering around with different ideas for the Akula. I'm getting finalized on what I need to do.
