New Feature - R/D Ideas

Have an idea for the web site?

Postby Bigdave » Wed Jul 28, 2004 8:03 am

Just in case you top bananas did not see the thread, I am formaly requesting a new feature called R/D Ideas. The thread was started a few days ago and I think it would be very interesting. It is on line Bubblehead-Brainstorming. You throw out an idea and then we discuss making it work. :p Please mull it over. (Jim W, I promise no pressure vessels) Ha Ha. Dave. :D

Hi Dave,

Wouldn't the forum "Modeling Tips & Tricks" serve the same basic purpose? I'd like to not create two forums that are possibly similar.....

Hi Jeff, I thought so to at first. But I think the tips feature is more of a "This is the way I do it" kind of section. Not a discussion of how to do it from an idea. If you see what I mean. I think there is a difference. Think it over, Dave. :)

I think brainstorming should go in the R/C modeller forum.

Personally, I think we have one too many forums already- it's getting confusing.

In some ways I like the old set-up which had a smaller number of sections- it was less time consuming to browse.

Andy,

You've hit the proverbial nail on the head......that's a big concern of mine too.

If there is a real need for a new forum, we'll create one. However, I too would like to see the current number reduced.

Guys I think what Jeff is trying to say is we need a DATABASE
of projects that people have done, the Parts used, the kit, maybe it's a scratch built sub and somebody used PVC pipe or used a clear tube..the fact is there is not database for those ideas, just threads
that people post and within 90 days are gone forever.

How about it powers to be?

parts used
how much did it cost
Construction time and work involved
finished product.

That I would love to see!

If you open a specific forum and scroll to the bottom you'll see a line
Showing 15 of 47 topics sorted by last post date in descending order from the last 30 days.
When you choose from the beginning you'll have all available messages to browse through. (Except those from the old message board :;): )

Correct me if I'm wrong but only inappropriate messages are deleted. Everything else is there.

Suggestion for Mark (Turbobearcat):
I believe Jim Butts has been looking for a volunteer to create an on-line listing of the articles that have appeared in prior issues of the SubCommittee Report. Maybe this would be a reasonable start? ???

Best, Ed :)
