Hi Mike -

Yes, both GIF and JPG are allowed image formats within postings.

[---]http://www.members.aol.com/longboard40/test[----]

when I try the above which works for other sites this is the response I get " You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif " any ideas? Mike

Mike,

If the string [---]http://www.members.aol.com/longboard40/test[----] is what you used....as in the graphic file name was "test", then I suspect that you need to add the file extension so that the forum software will know what type of graphic it is....

It seems that the only way to post a picture is to have it located at a URL first. It would be nice to be able to upload a picturee to accompany your message directly from your hard disk in GIF or JPG format.

Hi Bill -

The ability for users to upload files has some nice benefits, but let's see how everything else goes first. I had this feature years ago in the message boards and was quickly burned by people uploading huge files and putting us over disk quota, which locked down the whole site. Then there were the people posting porn that became very annoying...

The current feature of including links to pictures within posts is a big win. Though, it does exclude those who have images on their local drive they'd like to share. Of course, we do have an image gallery for exactly this purpose, so you could always send images to me to post ;-)

Cheers!

Hey Guys, It is at a url or web site. Members.aol.com is a free space given to AOL members for pictures. when I do the above I have no problem posting on ebay or other club sites the pictures come right up :( either way I like the new site keep up the good work. Mike
