Matt Thor 1/96 scale Permit
Mostly completed. Z-cut, appendages installed. Custom 1/8" garolite saddles for a 3" WTC in the lower half, and garolite reinforcing saddles in the upper hull. Custom built, removable garolite plate installed in the stern with prop shaft oilite tube and holes to help guide linkage shafts and keep them steady. The plate is removable via 6/32 nuts and adjustable 1 to 2 mm in each direction for perfect prop shaft alignment.
Some foam has been installed in the upper hull (easily removable or added to for trimming to your own WTC). This boat was run once on sea trials in Groton last September.
All flood holes have been cut and filed and are absolutely perfect. Very good upper and lower hull seam that has already been filled for the best possible fit. The brass rods extending from the stern planes and rudders have been notched to keep the set screws from slipping. Linkages are complete (you may simply need to replace the 1/16" rods to fit your own WTC depending on where you place it).
Z-cut, needs one small screw in the upper stern to hold it all together.
MBT holes have been drilled in the upper hull. Acid etched MBT vent covers have not yet been installed.
Sail is removable and kept secure with 2 small nuts on the underside of the upper hull. The sail is largely complete, just needs a little filling and slight sanding at the seam.
Only a few pinholes left in the hull remain to be filled and sanded. The hull is in a coat of black sandable auto primer.
Includes the masts, scopes, and cast white metal fittings, as well as the metal prop, and MBT vent covers.
Will be shipped via UPS ground in very secure and stable packaging to guarantee undamaged delivery condition. Tracking info will be provided when shipped. US only, please.
The un-built kit now sells for $275 via Matt's Precision Pattern. Since this boat is nearly complete and only needs a few last touches and a WTC to get her sailing, I'm asking a very reasonable $350, which will also cover shipping and insurance. Paypal payment is preferred, please.
