Is this a good kit? I'm new to subs but I always liked the little Japanese midget. Hobbylink Japan has it for around $35 US.

Since no one else wants to comment, I guess I'll have to.
I saw this model at the IPMS show in Phoenix, AZ a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful little model, but I couldn't really justify the $35 price tag. But that's just me, I prefer US Subs.
Also, how to display it would be a problm for me. At 1:72 I'd need an "I" class sub to mount a couple of them on.
Like the Seehunt, and other German migets from Verlinden, this model reeally should be in 1:35. Otherwise, IMHO, it's just too small by itself.
However, if you're into alternative military history, you might mount a couple of them on Revell's 1:72 U-boat. If this had been done by the Kreigsmarine, with a half dozen U-boats, in responce to D-Day, it would have created havoc with the landings.
Not to mention reforcements, arriving over the following days.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on displaying it next to, but not on top of, my 1/72 Type VII. It may make in interesting conversation piece.
