20kLUTS miniseries - on SciFi

Nautilus, Seaview, and more

Postby Carcharadon » Sun Apr 04, 2004 3:23 pm

Ben Cross (Chariots of Fire, Barnabas Collins in the 1990s' Dark Shadows) and Emmy Award-winner Richard Crenna (the Rambo trilogy) star in this dramatic reimagining of Jules Verne's classic novel. While investigating a mysterious rash of attacks on military sea vessels, a marine biologist and his daughter (Julie Cox, Princess Irulan in SCI FI's Frank Herbert's Dune and Children of Dune original miniseries) are trapped aboard the Nautilus, a futuristic submarine piloted by the vengeful Captain Nemo. Directed by Michael Anderson (The Shoes of the Fisherman, Logan's Run).

Airs Saturday, April 10, at 9PM & 1AM ET/PT

It's terrible!

The acting is poor, Ben Cross trys to play an enigmatic and unemotional Nemo, but his performance comes across as wooden and stilted.

The Nautilus looks like a pregnant whale!

Nemo falls in love with Aronnax's daughter? They've gone too far with the movie! :D
280 meters.... and she's still in one piece!

Ned Land also falls for Aronnax's daughter!

And Nemo has a coed crew! In uniforms that would look right at home on any Star Trek episode.

After twenty minutes I changed the channel and did not look back! :(
