1. I have been tacking them in place with Ca and then covering them with evercoat because I am out of epoxy.

That's pretty sweet Kevin.

How did you cut those hatches out without cutting into the deck around them? Kevin the surgeon.

And what are those pieces sticking out off of the hinge pins (the painted ones)? I can see that the brass pieces are stops for the doors closed so they don't drop down below the deck, but I can't tell what the others are.

Hey Pete
I am not quite a surgeon. To get the doors out I went over the lines with a scribe till i got through the gel coat. After that I used an old xacto knife that the tip had broken off. Believe it or not the back un sharpened side worked best. I just used the flat point it had and scraped through the remaining fiberglass then sanded the area down. If you look closely at those photos you can see that one side has a bigger gap then the other. I think I will fill them back in with evercoat tomorrow and make them more of a snug fit.

The parts you are seeing on the hatched are part of the details of the hatch. Mind you it is only the beginning of them. I didn't want to add the stops either but they were a necessity for the way my hatch mechanism will work (which I also tested today with good results). After it is all said and done I will probably make a resin cast set of the doors, breach, and tube tops. I am also contemplating working xmer bouys. Not 100% how ridiculous I will get but, Ive got the space and what not so I might as well get it all working. I am also going to make an actual floating wire. Also contemplating some drop down SPM but maybe I am trying to bight off to big a chunk. If I keep it up the thing will never see paint! Ill keep you posted Pete.

I am really enjoying the work on this model. Well except for filling lines and cutting the holes. I already talked the wife into finishing the filling of the vents. Now its a family project. Oh joy!

Well I was shopping for parts and materials at lowes and found some good stuff to do my non skid for the missile deck. I was goign to use the actual non skid spray they have but it was way off scale. This stuff on the other hand is perfect!

That's what I used on the last turn-key model I built. But use it sparingly or it will build up out of scale also. Otherwise it looks great.

Well its been a bit since I made any headway but, the receipt of the prop in the mail from Pete and the small work area I have Set up on the dinner table, due to the moving boxes in the garage, has got me going again.

I have installed the aft prop bearing and forward bearing support. I have also began installing the saddle and construction of my WTC.

I have also decided to move down the missile launching system so that it is more centerline and will less effect trim. It will also afford me more space in my WTC.

Enough talk picture. Thanks to Tony for the use of your brain, workshop and materials.
