"The Discovery Channel is scheduled to air “Submarine: Hidden Hunter,” a new documentary highlighting the Virginia-class submarine, at 8 and 11 p.m. Sunday, April 24. The one-hour program was filmed in part at Electric Boat in Groton and Quonset Point.
According to Discovery, the show “heads deep into top-secret territory with an engrossing profile of the new Virginia-class vessel, which represents a quantum leap forward in submarine design. Downloading the details, intricacies and specialties of the sub’s high-tech design and impressive systems, the special gives the ultimate view of its role in leading the Navy into a bold new phase of undersea warfare.”
Interviewed for the documentary at EB were then-Virginia Program Manager Will Lennon and a handful of other company and Navy personnel. The show’s producer/cameraman, Matthew Howe, also spent time at the Groton submarine base, Northrop Grumman Newport News, and aboard the USS Virginia (SSN-774).
Check your local listings for the channel."
