Akula and space - Spacecraft to be launched

This is the place to read all about submarines in the real world!

I just saw Daily Planet this morning and there was an article about a futuristic spacecraft (I think Cosmos 1 was the name)that uses solar radiation to travel through space. Because of the hign costs of lauching a rocket from the ground, scientists decided to launch the craft from a Russian Akula-like sub (I think it was an Akula actually.....) the spacecraft is to be place inside a missile tube (similar to one of those Vertical Launch Tubes on LAs) and then fired underwater. Once in space, the solar "sails" will provide power to the craft. Might want to check out the Daily Planet site later tommorow or tonight for them to update the article on the web.
