Please keep in mind that this is probably not a paying gig for Ron, he is a volunteer. If you performed the upload process correctly, and I have no reason to believe you didn't then there is more than likely a board software issue, meaning something in the code needs to be tweaked. This could take time to figure out. Be patient Ron is very good at what he does.

One thing I see wrong is this. There is a bracket "]" missing after the word img at the beginning. Try inserting it and see if it works.

I'll try playing with this too just in case you see your holland in my signature.

I'm still not quite understanding what it is that you are doing that fails.
but John has provided a low-res image now (meeting the demand of 150x200 pixels)
and I have uploaded that into the avatar gallery. I also took the liberty of putting
this picture up as john's avatar. I assume that what was ultimately wanted ?

as for the comms, please note I am in another time zone about 6 hours
ahead of you and need to sleep sometimes.
next to that it was my son's birthday, so sorry for the delay.

now, I would like to understand what it is you do that fails. can somebody mail me a
screenshot of your computer screen, made just before it fails/complains/crashes ?

@boss, thanks for the kind words, i might be getting good at this but there is
still plenty I cannot solve (within the hours available). so let's hope ;-)

oh, right, a picture in the signature, not the avatar.....
ok, no need for the screenshot any more. I'll have another look.

<edit> this is allowed and *should* work, but does not. some digging required...

<edit> reverted john's avatar and fixed the problem as far as I could. it was as Boss Subfixer predicted
indeed a (known) problem in the board code. seems to work now.

One remark : your signature changes instantly in all the posts you ever wrote.
Large images cause a lot of bandwidth consumption. therefore if I feel this gimmick costs us too much
I will have to propose to the SC to disallow pictures in signatures.
USE SMALL PICTURES IN SIGNATURES, say up to 10 Kb. in file size.

Ronald,

I agree. If a person wants to use some sort of photo, use it as your avatar. If you want to display a gallery of photos, use the member homepage space that the SC provides.
