Know of an upcoming modeling event?

Raffle Donations

Postby Bruce Martin » Wed Jun 19, 2013 8:47 am

Hey Guys
Just a reminder , there is approx 6 weeks left before the REGATTA in Carmel, and so far I have only recieved 4 messages from people bringing donations.I know that a lot of people bring them to the pond, and alot send their items to Chris, if you could please send me a message telling me that. As it stands right now I only have 4 donations to put on the table, which for all intent and purposes would be sad. I do know that we are all busy, but if you could take a moment and send me a message that would be great :D :D :D
Thank You

Guys,

It is imperative that we receive the raffle donations in the next couple of weeks!!!!! A great deal of the funding for the SubRegattas come from the proceeds received from the raffle. The response to the raffle this year is not what is has been in the past.

PLEASE, consider a raffle donation!!!

The SubCommittee is counting on you!

I will be donating a group of OTW T-Shirts to the Raffle table. You guys who patronize OTW and admire Uboats will love them.

I sent out a bunch of emails to various submarine vendors, not just in the UK. Only received two replies so far, one was from Bob to say he always delivered the prizes direct, the other was to say they'd give it some consideration and let me know nearer the time, but no response to date.

Just got some cool donations arranged through work. Gimme a day or two to write 'em up and upload pix. I'll upload a shot of the great sub book noted earlier as donated as well. Thanks.

Okay, guys, listen up: here are some way-cool raffle table prizes coming your way this year. First is the two-volume "Silent Victory" book Bruce listed for me above. Here's a photo:

Image

Next are TWO waterproof iPad covers—great for near-pond use: now you're risk-free around dripping submarines.

Image

And here are TWO high-definition hands-free video cameras—a boat photography must.

Image

Now comes a telephoto lens designed to attach to your iPhone; great boat photography, here we come!

Image

Then there's a digital camera waterproof case—again, great for pond use.

Image

And here's a solar charger for your electronic doodads. No power at the pond site? No problem!

Image

These are all manufacturer samples, so deep appreciation goes out to my friend Karen Cagle, buyer of such goodies for Big 5 Sporting Goods stores (my employer), for donating these items to the SubRegatta cause when she had finished with them.

Again, hearty thanks, Karen!
