On Ray Mason's Subregatta 94' tape (tape 1) Ed Tordahl described his tic tac operated buoy-release system. Unfortunately he did not tell how the system works. Anyone know how it works? ???

Well, if no one knows how it works (I might just be too impatient :D), maybe some of you have simple homemade failsafes you would like to share with me :)

I would assume that a Tic-Tac in the free-flood area holds in a spring-loaded pin that holds down the float.
As the Tic-Tac dissolves in the water, it will release the pin and the float.
