U47 rivet/panel & welding lines plans needed

R/C Submarine modelers

Hi,

for detailing of my U47 Robbe model I've been checking the net for detailed pictures or plans for the positions of welding lines, rivets and panels of it's hull. Did find some pic's but they are of poor resolution or only show part of the hull. If anyone has some nice pic's or drawings on this subject it would be great if I could get a copy.
Thanks,

Jos.

Dear Jos,

What about the scale rivets and weldlines of Angelfire?

Hi,

this site contains the best pictures I've seen, it's the upcoming Revell kit.

Thx both!

xspecially the Revell pics are handy, however 95% usable (Robbe & Revell kit are not identical).
Checkout my website http://home.planet.nl/~beast/modificaties.html
for idea how it looks like so far. Could take some time to load, made some high res pics.

Greetz,

Jos.

An excellent place to start would be with drawings that are known to be 99% accurate....so as to not pick up on other folks "mistakes".....

The book "Vom Original Zum Modell: Uboottyp VII C" by Fritz Kohl has a number of very detailed line drawings and some excellent photos. The publisher used to offer a full set of drawings (planrolle) in a large format, but I have been told that they are now out of print.

Granted the robbe U-47 can require some compromises, but it will look *great* with the added rivet and weld line detailing.

Thx Jeff,

I checked Amazon.de an ordered this book, togetherer with : 1) Kriegsmarine U-Boats 1939-45 (Gordon Williamson, Ian Palmer)
and 2) U- Boot Typ VII. Eine Darstellung in Wort und Bild.
(David Westwood).
It will take some week before arrival. Untill then I will concentrate on the Conning Tower.
