To all SubCommittee members:
The Executive Committee of the SubCommittee, per the Articles of Incorporation, periodically reviews the business processes and financial status of the organization. The most recent review included a survey of operations used by other similar, hobbyist-based, member-driven organizations. The purpose of this review was to establish a baseline that would allow the Executive Committee to compare a number of key recruitment and retention factors necessary for maintaining the health of the organization.
This review has found that the SubCommittee matches up well when compared to the other organizations in areas such as representing the voice of the hobbyist community to the vendors, promoting the hobby, and fiscal responsibility to it's members.
One area where the organization did not compare favorably was that of compensation for certain members of the Executive Committee. With that in mind the officers of the SubCommittee have discussed and voted upon a plan to rectify this situation.
Effective immediately, the Executive Committee has decided to enact a pay raise of 50% for the elected officers of the SubCommittee. This action is retroactive to the start of the current term of office (January 1, 2003). The Membership Chairman and SubCommittee Report Editor will continue at their current rates for the forseeable future.
The meeting minutes of this action can be viewed by submitting a written request to the secretary of the SubCommittee.
